Our story

We grow it. We dry it. You cook it.

Leni began with a quiet frustration — that the modern food aisle had stopped trusting people to cook. Everything pre-chopped, pre-cooked, pre-seasoned, pre-decided. So we built the opposite.

A hibiscus field at golden hour

Leni is a brand of raw, whole foods. We sell dried hibiscus petals, single-estate loose-leaf tea, fresh yam tubers, dried ginger root, moringa leaf powder, and small batches of cold-brew zobo. That's it.

"We harvest. You cook. That's the deal."

We don't run a kitchen. We don't develop recipes for you. We work with smallholder farms, harvest carefully, sun-dry the slow way, sort by hand, and bag it whole. What lands on your counter is the same thing that came off the plant — only cleaner, dried where it needs to be, and shipped in the smallest amount of packaging we can get away with.

The name Leni comes from a grandmother who taught us that cooking is a relationship between a person and an ingredient — and that no brand should ever get in the middle of it. We try to live up to that every day.

What "raw" actually means here.

  • Whole, not processed.

Hibiscus petals come as petals. Yams come as yams. Tea leaves are leaves — not powder, not bags.

  • Never cooked.

We don't simmer, season, sweeten or pre-prepare anything. Your stove does that part.

  • Single-origin.

We name the farm and the harvest. No blends, no anonymous bulk lots.

  • Nothing added.

No preservatives, no sugar, no flavour engineering. If it can spoil, that means it's real.
